In an attempt to conquer the world’s largest auto market Ford and the Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba teamed up for an activation that blends online and offline customer experiences. In China’s southern city Guangzhou the two brands opened a five-storeys tall unmanned car vending machine that contains various Ford models. People can book a test-drive with Alibaba’s shopping apps, snapping a selfie as they do so. When they arrive at the machine, it will verify their identities before the vehicle is delivered for a three-day test ride.
