3D printers make it possible to print anything at home. From decorative objects to musical instruments and even real, working guns. These weapons are untraceable and undetectable at security checkpoints and all you need to do is download the blueprint files that are available online. To counteract the spread of home-made guns, 3D printer company Dagoma launched Operation HarmlessGuns. They downloaded popular blueprint files and edited them so once printed, the guns will be completely harmless. After that they reuploaded the files to the same locations as they found them. To date, they have been downloaded more than 13,000 times. Great example of do instead of talk marketing that strongly addresses an ethical issue.
