The first outdoor Augmented Reality campaign in the world, was done last year by Disney to promote their movie Prince of Persia. Now Ford is taking the AR technique to another level. With the campaign for the new Ford C-Max it has the premiere of the first outdoor AR campaign that also uses 3D depth imaging technology. This campaign allows people to handle and explore a 3D virtual model of the car on screen and in the palm of their hand. Virtual buttons allow the user to – for instance – choose the colour of the car, open doors, fold the seats flat or turn the car 360 degrees in the palm of their hand.
