In the middle of the IKEA flagship store in Norway, between displays of cosy furnishings, stood a small room with cement walls. The display is an exact copy of the apartment of Rana, a Syrian mother raising four children in a war zone in Damascus. The Norwegian Red Cross teamed up with IKEA to give shoppers a powerful reality check and ask them for a donation for people in need.
