In Denmark only 1-2% of the nature is wild, resulting in a massive lack of habitats and nourishment for endangered Danish insects. To raise awareness about this silent biodiversity catastrophe, IKEA Denmark has teamed up with the World Wildlife Fund to reinvent an IKEA icon. The Swedish Seedball is a meatball, but for insects. Made of soil, clay and wildflower seeds it will help you grow native plants that can feed endangered insects. Only 7,500 kits are available, exclusively to members of Ikea’s Family Club loyalty program. But once they sell out, the company’s Danish site will publish a recipe guide for you to make your own Seedballs at home.
