Leroy Merlin is a home improvement and gardening retailer with 47 stores in Italy. Every year it runs around 2,500 free in-store DIY courses for clients who want to improve their skills. The courses are a source of waste, since the work done in the lessons is subsequently thrown away. With Lessons for Good the brand changed the history of its DIY lessons. Turning clients into volunteers, Leroy Merlin succeeded in giving a new life to 50 NGO buildings for children, schools, centers for the elderly and refugees. The campaign was rewarded with a Grand Clio at this year’s Clio Awards.
