For the last 7 months Olympic champion Eliud Kipchoge had one goal: become the first to break 2 hours in the marathon. Last weekend he ran for his life on the Italian Monza circuit in the apotheosis of pioneering Nike’s Breaking2 program. Kipchoge finished with an impressive 2:00:25, but regardless of the outcome the Breaking2 project has generated a marketing platform for Nike’s new Zoom Vaporfly shoes unlike few others.
