To create some buzz around the release of its new S90 T8 Plug-in Hybrid in Thailand Volvo came up with a pretty electrifying idea. They built the world’s first Lightning-Powered Billboard, an outdoor ad that was designed to attract a lightning strike in stormy Bangkok. With the help of cameras and infra-red sensors, people could witness the phenomenon live on Volvo Cars Facebook page. The campaign generated three times more monthly sales than any previous Volvo campaign in Thailand!
