ING – The Next Rembrandt

A new Rembrandt is world news, even if it’s painted with the help of 21e century technology. The Dutch bank ING commissioned a team of data analysts, developers and art historians to analyse 168.000 fragments from all of the 346 known paintings by the 17th century Dutch master. The data was then fed to a 3D printer which created a new portrait. Be sure to check out the making of video of this ambitious project.
